Rui Terao
2003年 鳥取県生まれ。
主に国外に流出した日本美術品の表象をインターネットを通じて収集、印刷したイメージを裁断、織り込む手法で制作を行う。
既存のモチーフ同士が混ざり合うことで発生するオリジナリティ、膨大な時間をかけて織り込むことによる、複製物への一回性の付与などコラージュによる新たな絵画表現を考えている。

Rui Terao investigates the transformation of cultural identity and visual reproduction in the digital era. Sourcing online digital archives of Japanese historical and cultural artifacts dispersed abroad, the artist prints and meticulously cuts these imagery, weaving the physical fragments together into layered compositions. Through this labor-intensive collage and weaving process, Terao questions the concept of authenticity and singularity—transforming mass reproductions into unique visual artifacts where fragmented histories and motifs converge.
