AWASE galleryについて

AWASE gallery は、建築家の松井陸とアーティストの山田康平の2名によって運営されるスペースで、 2025年6月に東京都新宿区にオープンする「nudge field」を拠点として活動します。この空間では、アーティストの展覧会やグループ展を中心に企画しながら、建築や様々なメディアカルチャーが交わることで、新しい価値が生まれる場を目指します。

年間の企画は山田康平が監修し、現代美術を軸にしながらも、松井陸が建築的な視点や多様な分野の考え方を取り入れたプログラムを展開していきます。展覧会によっては、美術家と建築家が協力するプロジェクトや、美術作品に建築の技術や要素取り込んでいくこと、建築空間に美術家が関わる新しい試みなどを行います。こうしたプロセスを通じて、これまでにない表現の可能性が広がることを目指していきま す。AWASEは、建築とアートの融合を軸に新しい展示体験を提案します。

About AWASE Gallery

AWASE Gallery is a space run by architect Riku Matsui and artist Kohei Yamada, and will be based at “nudge field,” set to open in Shinjuku, Tokyo in June 2025. The gallery will primarily focus on exhibitions and group shows by artists, with the goal of creating a space where new values emerge through the intersection of architecture and various media cultures.

The annual program will be curated by Kohei Yamada, with a focus on contemporary art. Riku Matsui will incorporate architectural perspectives and ideas from diverse fields into the programming. Some exhibitions will feature collaborations between artists and architects, as well as projects that integrate architectural techniques or elements into artworks, or involve artists in architectural spaces in innovative ways. Through these processes, the gallery aims to expand the possibilities of expression in ways that have not been seen before. AWASE proposes a new exhibition experience centered on the fusion of architecture and art.
